Now more than ever, it’s time to back an Australian business

On 13 July 2020,  it was announced that Webcentral Group (ASX:WCG), which includes brands such as Netregistry, TPP and Melbourne IT, recommended a scheme of arrangement to its shareholders to be wholly acquired by multi-billion dollar US company Web.com Group Inc.

This is the same company who recently acquired Dreamscape Networks, which included brands such as Crazy Domains and Vodien.

If this acquisition is approved by their shareholders more than 80% of the local market for domain name registration/hosting/SSL/etc, will be owned by overseas entities.

Influence IT is proud to be 100% Australian owned and managed and, in our tenth year of operation, we are delighted to be able to keep your business onshore to the benefit of Australians and Australian business!

If you, or anybody you know, still has online services with any of these brands you may wish to consider asking them to contact us to organise for their services to be transferred to us.  Why?

  1. You will be supporting a truly local company that, through our Australian partners, provides 24/7 Australian-based service and technical support (~65 staff in Melbourne).
  2. You will avoid paying unnecessary overseas transaction fees with your bank as some of the affected businesses process their payments offshore and you pay for it!
  3. You will have peace of mind knowing that all of your customer data and private information will remain right here in Australia.

In case you are wondering, we have no plans to sell-out to any foreign buyers as it is a fundamental goal of our business to remain Australian! We have built our brand and reputation on trust. We are firmly committed to our customers and this industry, and we will continue to innovate and provide a local alternative that delivers outstanding customer service and reliable web hosting.

If there is anything we can do to help you establish and/or maintain your digital environment, just drop us a note and we’ll be straight onto it.
